Evelyn Lavon Godfrey

Evelyn Lavon Godfrey, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, in Naples, Florida, shortly after celebrating her 96th birthday. She was born on January 29, 1930, in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Evelyn was a woman of strong and unwavering Christian faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in the kindness, grace, and love she showed to everyone around her. She found great joy in her passion for painting, reading, listening to music, singing, and, most of all, spending precious time with her family. She is survived by her two sisters, Benita and Carolyn; her brother, Tom; her two daughters, Susan and Carrie; her son-in-law, Lyle; her grandchildren, Chris, Jeff, Christian, and Baylee; and her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Gavin, Emmit, Micah, Isla, and Ottilie. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her dear son, Joey; and her older sister, Willie Mae. While her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in knowing she has been joyfully reunited in Heaven with those she loved so dearly. A service to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Shawnee, Oklahoma, 44909 Hwy 3, 74801. Viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a chapel service at 2:00 p.m., and a graveside service at 3:15 p.m. Evelyn’s legacy of faith in her lord and savior Jesus Christ, and devotion to her beloved family and friends will live on in all who knew her.
