

Garry Dwaine Duke, 50, resident of Shawnee, OK passed away on October, 1 2011 after battling a severe illness over the past year. He was born on June 29, 1961 in Muskogee, OK. Garry accepted Christ at an early age in Wewoka, OK where he attended Public Schools. He graduated from Wewoka High School in May 1979. He went on to attend college at Central State University in Edmond, OK. Growing up in the small town of Wewoka, Garry was very well known. He had more friends than one could ever imagine. He could always tell a good story of his childhood years. Some of his most memorable times involved his pets, Bruno – his favorite dog, Lil’n – his mule pony he called a horse, and his All-star years playing basketball for the Wewoka Tigers.
While living in Shawnee, OK, Garry worked at TDK for over 20 years in various positions. He was a very hard and determined worker. No job was ever too large for him. Garry was able to progress his way up to management and in early 2009, he accepted voluntary retirement from TDK. Garry’s interest included spending time with his family and friends, home improvement projects, watching sports, and constructing and managing a home business for his wife, Sandi. In the last several years, he had made a firm commitment in restoring his faith and relationship with Christ. He was preceded in death by his older twin sisters, Juanita and Vanita Duke and most recently, his nephew that he raised, Kevin Duke. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife Sandi Duke of Shawnee, OK; cherished mother Etolia Abraham of Midwest City, OK; his children, Robert Duke of Oklahoma City, OK, Kyle Duke of Shawnee, OK, Megan and Adrean Cotton of Edmond, OK, Kandace Duke, mother (Lisa) of Bartlesville, OK; Antonio Mitchell, Dustin Towers and LaPorchia Towers, mother (Vicki) of Shawnee, OK; Sheena Barr, Michael Barr, and André Barr of Tulsa, OK; sisters Terry and Ricky Smith of Edmond, OK, Sherry McCullough of Midwest City, OK, Paula and Stephen Anderson of Choctaw, OK and brother Marcus Abraham of Tulsa, OK; uncle William and Nancy Wilson of Laurel, MD; a special cousin, Deborah Mustin of Shawnee, OK and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
