Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Viola Marie Carter; one son, Jack Troy Carter, Jr.; granddaughter, Brittney Meisner; son-in-law Paul Nash; siblings: Willie Carter, Earline Martin, Otis Newton, Odis Newton, Clyde Carter, Ross Carter, and Tom Carter.
Jack is survived by two daughters: Cynthia Kosel and her husband, James, and Sharita Nash; daughter-in-law, Jane Carter; grandchildren: Gaydonne Nusz and her husband Farrell, Tasha Zumwalt, Brandon Carter and his wife Michelle, Wayland Nash and his wife Sara, and Savannah Nash; 5 great grandchildren; siblings: Zack Carter of Tecumseh, OK, and Betty Lewis of Brownfield, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a young boy, Jack had to leave school to work on the family farm. He later earned his GED and went on to have a successful career working in the oil industry, retiring from Texaco as an engineering technician. He loved playing dominoes and spending time with his family.
