Larry James Nuckols

Larry James Nuckols, beloved brother, "Larry Uncle", husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on July 30th at the age of 79. Born on November 5th, 1944 in Huntington Park (not Beach), California.

Larry lived a life full of passion and laughter. He had a deep love for fishing, horse racing, and OU football! “Don’t call me during the game unless it’s a commercial break”. After graduating high school in Prague, Oklahoma, Larry studied at the OSU School of Technical Training in Okmulgee, and later owned a Phillips 66 service station on Route 66 in west OKC before moving-on to work for Westinghouse/York for 41 years.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Levi Nuckols; step-father, A.B. Huggins; mother, Dora Nuckols Huggins; and sister Eugenia Batterton.

Larry is survived by his amazing wife of 58 years, Peggy Nuckols; daughter, Shalmarie Arlington and husband, Bryan, of Norman, OK; son, Levi Nuckols and wife, Linda, of OKC, OK; and “His Pride and Joy, the Best Medicine”...his four grandchildren: Jessica, and husband Bradyn, Newberg, Jacob Arlington, and Ellis & Samuel Nuckols; Sisters: Kayron Devereaux and husband, Arthur; Betty Hehnly and husband, Clair, both of Shawnee, OK; ten step-siblings, numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

A visitation for Larry will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A graveside service will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at External Service Location, 44909 OK-3, Shawnee, OK 74801. After the funeral, the family invites you to a light reception at 801 N. Park Ave. in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
