

LaVon Davis, 82 of Shawnee Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on January 30, 2026, surrounded by her family and close friends. Born November 7, 1943, to H.L. and Inez Ledford (Jones), she was the oldest of three girls. She grew up in Shawnee where she built a strong faith and work ethic that guided her throughout life. On August 30, 1963, she married the love of her life Willie Ray Davis. Together they shared 48 years until his passing in 2011. They raised two children together, Jamie and Tammy. LaVon was a homemaker, she enjoyed oil painting and sewing. She was a Coca-Cola collector, loved Elvis and George Straight. LaVon was actively involved in PTA, she was a campfire leader, and loved any sport Jamie was in. In 1981, she started working for Shawnee Public Schools, as office secretary while being SFSE president. After working for 42 years, she retired in 2023. She is proceeded in death by her husband Willie Ray Davis; her parents H.L. and Inez Ledford; two sisters, Dianna Ledford and Laquita Legarda. Her mother and father-in-law, Joe and Elva Davis, and one niece Tracy Brown. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Tammy Blackwood and husband Kenny of Shawnee; Jamie Davis and wife Kimberly of Shawnee; multiple Grandchildren, Kenna Allen and husband Kody of Shawnee; Harley Davis and wife Tayler of Shawnee; Dakota Davis of Shawnee and Kameron Blackwood and girlfriend Shelbi Muzny of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Karter Allen, Sutton Allen and Julian James Davis. She is survived by her Sister-in-law Ruby Nell Davis York; very special friends, Gayle Fisher and Donna Merrell, who are more like sisters. She is survived by her bonus grandchildren, William "Billy" Barnes, Clayton Barnes and fiancé Ashley Newman, and James Hedge. She is also survived by her bonus great grandchildren Collin Williams and TyLee Fern. She also leaves behind a very special grand-dog/sitter Bentley. LaVon will be remembered for her kindness, and the love she poured into her family and all that she encountered. We would like to extend a special thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Ava Rawdon for the love and care she poured into Ms LaVon; she loved you like her own. A visitation will be held on February 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. The funeral service is scheduled for February 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the same location. A committal service will follow on February 6, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:40 am at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
