Margaret A Tucker

Margaret was the daughter of Vernon and Willine Smith. She was born in Morris, Oklahoma on Sept 8, 1936, and graduated from Dale High School. Margaret started a family at age 22.

Margaret worked at Wolverine for 20 years. After retiring in 1998, she became a caregiver; caring and enriching the families she supported. Margaret was a strong, independent woman with a giving heart. She raised three children as a single mother, none of whom ended up in jail, so we consider it a success!

Margaret was a steadfast and faithful servant to the Lord throughout her life. She served in several capacities as an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee. She enjoyed serving as a table mom with Logos, a volunteer at vacation bible school, and a member of a singles class at church. She also supported the women’s shelter in Shawnee.

Margaret's legacy is truly one of faith, resilience, and love. The impact she had on those around her is evident in the way she is remembered—with warmth, admiration, and deep affection. Her unwavering spirit and beautiful smile will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, a lasting testament to the strength she carried through life's challenges.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Willine Smith, brothers, Mike Smith, and Vaden Smith. Margaret is survived by her children, Carla Sweatt, Plano, Tx; Steve Sweatt, Shawnee, Ok; and Greg Sweatt, Moore, Ok, her grandchildren, Candace Sweatt, Shawnee, Ok; Cody Brashears, Shawnee, Ok; David and Ariel Sweatt, Moore, Ok; and her great-grandson, Noah Brashears, Shawnee, Ok. As well as her siblings, Carol Allison, Wilma Reppert, Linda Nirschl, Gary Smith, and Fred Smith. She will forever be remembered by a host of relatives and good friends who will miss her so.

She was cherished, not only by her family but by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The love she shared will continue through her children by shaping their lives with the values and strength she embodied.

Margaret was an example and inspiration to those who knew her as someone with limitless faith in God, despite all the challenges and struggles she encountered in life. The light of her beautiful smile and spirit will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
