

She met the love of her life, Carl Lightner, at a Bingo game. They married in 1943 and eventually made their home in Oklahoma. Together they raised their daughter, Barbara, who passed away on March 17, 2017. As the years passed, she also helped raise grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Granny was a stay at home wife and mother. She devoted her time to her family and always put everyone before herself. You could always count on a clean house and refreshments if you stopped in for a visit. She was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Carl Lightner; sisters, Maxine, Oletha, Eloise, and Annie Christine; and a grandson, Cody Butler.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Marjorie Flanagan and Sheri Butler; great grandchildren, Brandon Flanagan, Raceen Cosby, Patrick McCown, and Megan McCown; great-great grandchildren, MacKenzie Flanagan, Shelby Flanagan, Aurelia Pleets, Brylee Cosby, Cyson Cosby, Noah Padilla, Ty McCown, Wyatt McCown, Kameron Flanagan, Isces Woodall, Jacee Woodall, and Colby Butler.
Visitation will be 2p-5p Wednesday, 8a-5p Thursday, and 8a-8p Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Services will 11am Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
