

Mildred W. Caldwell, 91, of Shawnee passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was born September 14, 1920 in Pink, OK to Oscar Whitten and Josie (Pope) Whitten. She was a graduate of Shawnee High School. She married Emmett R. Caldwell on July 12, 1941 in Shawnee, OK. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1992. She was a full-time home maker; as well as working at Tinker Field until her retirement. Mildred was a member of Immanuel Baptist church and took care of the nursery for about 10 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett; son, Larry Dean Caldwell; brothers, Lawerence and John; sisters, Audrey, Fran, Esther and Roberta all of California. She is survived by her sons Scott and his wife Micki, Greg and his wife Nancy, all of Tampa, and Brad (Hot Shot) of Shawnee; twin grandsons, Emmett and Johnathan of Tampa; sisters, Hazel and Oleta (Toots) and brother Daryl of California. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Her visitation will be Thursday, April 19th, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Her service will be Friday, April 20th, at 2:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. For more information, visit www.ResthavenFH.com.
