She was born September 19, 1937 in Macomb, OK to Mark Van and Iva Mae (Crownover) Kidney. One of 8 children Wanda always had a funny story to share about growing up in their family home in Tecumseh.
She graduated from Tecumseh High School, and later married the love of her life, Walter “Chester” Craig. She worked at Kress Department Store, TG&Y, and most recently, Tecumseh Public Schools.
Wanda and Chester made their home in Shawnee, OK where she was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, and mother to Mark & Jeff.
Those who mourn and celebrate her life include her sons and their families:
Mark & Lori Craig, Shawnee; Jeff & Donna Craig, Shawnee; 6 grandchildren (and their spouses) and 9 great-grandchildren; her siblings Jean Hess, Shirley Craig, Danny Kidney, Van Kidney, and Fontella Williams; and a host of extended family and friends.
Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sharing stories and laughter, going dancing at the VFW or trying her luck at the casino.
As much as she loved life, and soaked up every minute, she looked forward to the day she would be reunited in Heaven with Chester and other loved ones who had passed on before her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester, and her brothers, C.A. Kidney and Tandy Kidney.
Wanda was quite clear about her final wishes and enlisted Resthaven Funeral Home to carry those out. While her inurnment will be private, a celebration of life for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Jeff and Donna Craig's Home. It will be come and go, pulled pork sandwiches will be provided; side dishes and desserts are welcome. Please bring a lawn chair as the family celebrates outside.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude towards Angelic Hospice, her nurses, physicians, and care providers who not only offered clinical care, but respected her and treated her with compassion.
