Barbara Jean Bailey

Mrs. Barbara Jean Lamont Bailey, age 86, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Mrs. Bailey was born in Louisville, KY on February 19, 1939 to the late William M. Lamont and Lillian Virginia Hobbic Lamont. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and a dedicated employee at Bacon’s. She was a longtime member and current president of the Genealogical Society, and past president and founding member of the Bullitt County History Museum. She leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice and unwavering devotion to her family.

In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Kenneth Martin Bailey Jr.; grandson, Ethan Bennett and siblings, Bill Lamont, Charles “Bud” Lamont, Mary Ellen Greer and Tommy Lamont preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kenneth M. Bailey, III (Jean), Keith Bailey, Kelley Bennett (Tony), and Christopher Bailey (Amy); grandchildren, Nicole Bailey (Tommy), Sarah Bailey (Wes), Zachary Bennett (Caitlyn), Collin Bennett, Chloe Bailey, Grace Bailey, Abbey Bailey and Megan Bailey; great- grandchildren, Lydia Bailey, Sydney Parker and Madeleine Bennett; sister, Shirley Miller and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 6:30 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of her service at 6:30 at the funeral home.
