

Bobby Ray Harper, age 77, of Shepherdsville, Ky passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, with his family by his side. Bobby was born in Central City, Kentucky on September 25, 1947, to the late James Morton Harper and Martha (Allen) Harper. He was a custom mill worker and retired from K-I Lumber Company after 35 plus years. He was a United States Army Veteran and enjoyed spending time in the Great Smokie Mountains, beach vacations with the Vanhoose family, along with spending time with his neighbors of 35 years Mitch and Sherrie Shropshire. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his late wife JoAnn Harper, son Daton Ray Harper, Grandson Robert Jayce Harper, sisters Joyce Minor, Linda Sue Harper, brother Jerry Wayne Harper.
He is survived by his son Jason Harper (Jennifer), grandchildren Sarah Goff (David), Darren Harper (Jacqueline), Jacob Harper (Sarah), Dustin Harper, Jessica Harper (Thomas Dowell), great-grandchildren Silas, Imogene, Margot, Dawsen, Colsen, brother Wendell Harper (Barbara), of Avon Lake, Ohio. Fur babies Bella, Gizmo, Wasabi, Penny, and Rocket. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). The visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Cremation was Chosen. A special thank you to the Hosparus staff especially “Donna” who made my dad’s final days peaceful.
