

Charles Lester “Charlie” Sturgeon, age 77, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 6, 2026.He was born on August 8, 1948, in Hart County, Kentucky to the late William Lester and Mary Lucille (Snyder) Sturgeon. Charlie retired from General Electric after 42 years of faithful service, was a Constable in law enforcement for over 20 years and worked security for Carl Casper Car Shows for over 50 years. He was a hobbyist; collecting many things such as Case knives, Hot Wheels and clocks. He had booths over the years at Awesome Flea Market in Shepherdsville. Charlie bred Boston Terriers and was a member and president for many years of Boston Terrier Club of Louisville. He was an avid UofK and Cincinnati Reds fan. He was a quiet natured man of few words, but when he said something, he meant it. Charlie’s true passion was his family; spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren is what he held most dear to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-grandchildren, Troy Sebastian and Grace Sebastian; nephew, Michael Sturgeon, and his sidekick, Mickey.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Carol (Duncan) Sturgeon; children, Christopher Scott Sturgeon (Brenda), Christa Lynn Harley (Jessie) and Charles Todd Sturgeon (Lesley); 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother, Paul Sturgeon and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Drive, Mt. Washington, Kentucky) with interment in Penn Run Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home in Mt. Washington.
