David Edward Richards

  Mr. David Edward Richards, age 81, of Taylorsville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 23, 2024. David was born in Franklin, Ohio on February 6, 1943, to the late Robert Richards and Helen (Burggraf) Richards. He was retired from Bailey Tools after 15 years of service as a commercial tool repairman, and a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, basketball and football. Some of his favorite teams being the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, along with the University of Kentucky Wildcats. David was a crafty person building birdhouses and step stools to name a few, he was kind and soft spoken and was known to have quite a sense of humor. He also was a loving and devoted husband and father, and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his two brothers Robert and Jim Richards, and sister Barbara Richards.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 57 years Janice Richards, son Robert J. Richards (Lola), two grandchildren, Michael Hunter Richards, and Joshua David Richards, sisters, Wanda Beverly (Charles), and Janet Minge (Greg), along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

 A Funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, September 30, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Family and Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Monday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home
