Doris Ann "Taylor" Hoskins

Mrs. Doris Ann Hoskins, age 68, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, with her family by her side.   Doris was born in Harlan County, KY on February 14, 1955, to the late Floyd Taylor and Ruby (Nichols) Taylor.  She was a loving housewife to her late husband of 49 years Jimmy Wayne Hoskins, a terrific mother to her two sons, and loving grandma to her two grandchildren. Doris loved country music and often made tapes and CDs to share with others, she enjoyed cooking and feeding and taking care of other people, she was known to put care packages together for her family back home and send them with love. She was known to be a bit of a worrier; however, she would take time to gamble she loved the slot machines. Most of all she loved her family, and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents she is also preceded in death by her late husband Jimmy Wayne Hoskins, her sister’s Elva Ellison, Louise Kincaid, and Lois Howard, brothers Earl Kincaid, and Eddie Bud Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Jimmy Hoskins (Pam), Kenny Hoskins (Brandi), two grandchildren Ava and Ben Hoskins, two sisters Sissie Taylor (Boyd), and Carolyn Craig (Austin), and a host of other dear relatives and friends.    

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 North Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff Kentucky. Family and Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
