Doris (Sissy) Jean Adkins Rowe

Mrs. Doris (Sissy) Jean Adkins Rowe, age 86, of Jeffersontown, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Mrs. Rowe was born in Campbellsville, KY on March 3, 1937 to the late Gordon Carroll Sr. and Kathleen Gabehart Carroll. She was a devoted member of Antioch Old Regular Baptist Church and retired from JCPS as a bus driver after 27 years of service. She loved puzzles, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Klondike bars and spending time with her family and church friends. She had so much joy and appreciation for life.

In addition to her parents, her 1st husband, Paul Adkins; 2nd husband, Bernard Rowe; granddaughter, Lacy Jones and siblings, Brenda Riley and Wanda Rowe preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Paul Dean Adkins (Debbie), Darrell Wayne Adkins (Paula), Rhonda Jones (Dale) and Dana Shields (Dennis); stepson, Kenny Rowe (Debbie); 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Gordon Carroll, Jr. and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 14, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of her service at 10:00am at the funeral home.
