Dorothy Ree Williams

Dorothy Ree Williams, age 77, of Okolona, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 30, 2025, with loving family by her side. She was born on December 10, 1947, in Grayson County, Kentucky to the late Ed and Irene Hayes.  Dorothy retired from Norton Children’s Hospital , formerly Kosair Children’s Hospital, after 15 years of faithful service. She was a member of Valley Station Church of God. Dorothy loved to work in her yard, fishing, and traveling. She loved her trips in her RV, especially spending time at Crossroads Campground in Elizabethtown and Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. She was a loyal, loving woman who loved her family. Becoming a great-grandmother was one of the highlights of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Williams; sisters, Bertha Elder and Naomi Torrence; and brothers, Lonnie Hayes, Leaston Hayes, Bobby Hayes, Herbert Hayes, Frank Hayes and Charlie Hayes.

Those that are left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tina Madaris (Walter); son, Jimmy Johnson (Klovers); grandchildren, Erin Johnson (Taylor), Curtis Johnson (Lauren) and Cynthia Madaris (Kendrick Johnson); great-grandson, Tre Johnson and a great-granddaughter on the way; fiancé, Steven Sinnott; brother, Roy Hayes (Margie); special people, Tony Sinnott (Erica) and Tracy Gray and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10:00 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 and on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 9:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
