

Sue dedicated much of her life to serving the Lord and her church community. She was a Sunday school teacher who poured love and wisdom into generations of children, a member of the praise and worship team whose voice lifted hearts in worship, and a youth pastor who guided and inspired many young people with her compassion and faith. Her ministry touched lives in ways that will be felt for years to come.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her gentle spirit left a lasting legacy of love and faith.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Raymond Lee "Sonny" Likens; their children Mike Likens (Rebecca), Deborah Jackson (Martin), and Brian K. Likens (Annette); grandchildren Chris Jackson (Nichole), Mikey Likens (Brooke), Josh Jackson (Whitney), Caleb Likens, Jazz Stringer (Sam), Megan Peyton (Bradley), Mariah Carrico (Brad), Tori Heimann (Josh), Noah, Jon, Brianna, Isaiah, Miguel, and Grace Likens; and great-grandchildren Adaline, Alice, Porter, Griffin, Navy, Ian, Aaliyah, Luke, Sonny, Everette, and Sebastian.
She is also survived by her siblings Stanley Gibson, Joyce Whitehead, Ronald Gibson (Alma), Patricia Hack (Don), and Paul Gibson (Dana); her sister-in-law Debbie Gibson; and a bounty of nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Paul and Julia Gibson; her brother, John Gibson; sister-in-law, Helen Gibson; and brother-in-law, James Whitehead.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd). Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM. There will be no graveside service following the celebration.
