Francis "Frank" Buford Coomer

Mr. Francis “Frank” Coomer, age 84, of Louisville, Ky returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born in Adair County, Kentucky on October 19, 1940, to the late Joseph Coomer and Leatha (Estes) Coomer. Frank retired after 30 years of service with Philip Morris. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed fishing, hunting; and showing rabbits was his hobby for years. Frank was a University of Kentucky fan and enjoyed playing Bingo. He also loved his fur baby Bella. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James Coomer.  

He is survived by his loving wife Rita Coomer, of 52 years, two sons David Coomer (Marsha), Dwayne Ashcraft, daughter Tina Coomer, six grandchildren Christa Woodcock (Nick), Michael Ashcraft, Bobbie Spellman (Troy), J.R. Coomer (Morgan), Harold Coomer (Laura), Jessica Anderson (Robbie), along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sister Dimple Grider (Albert), along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). With burial to follow in Hebron Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
