Among those who preceded him in death include, his parents, John and Francis Hester; brothers, Hubert, Herbert and Hershel Hester; sisters, Margie and Lorrine Hester and Evelyn Wacker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Millie Hester; children, Monty Gene Hester (Tammy) and Troy Ray Hester; grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, McKenzie and Savannah; great graddaughter, Alayna; brothers, J.B., Lewis and Kerrin Hester; sisters, Emma "Mickey" Murray, Virginia Sanders and Carolyn June Moore and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.; use John Harper entrance) with interment in Hebron Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Friday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at Schoppenhorst. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
