George Danny Barker

Mr. George Danny Barker, age 83, of Mt. Washington, Ky passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, with his family by his side. George was born in Lawton, Kentucky on August 5, 1941, to the late Ottis Barker and Ruby (Clay) Barker. He retired as Plant Manager at Stry-Lenkoff Company, he served in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964. George was a loving and devoted husband, dad, and Grandpa. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Jenell, golfing, and reading his cowboy books. He loved spending time with his special fur baby, Winnie. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rebecca Mary Caplinger, son James Russell Barker, brother Robert Barker, sisters Jean Mitchell, Betta Brandon, and Jayne McGuire.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Jenell Barker, daughter Danita Cobble- Weilage (Ron), grandchildren Joshua Weilage, Tyler Weilage, Joshua Caplinger, sisters Jo Simmons, Judy Bell, brother-in-law Quinlan Lyons (Brenda), Special Family Drs. Alex & Lady Bautista, grandchildren Andrei, Austin, and Audrey. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky 40218). The visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. P
