George Oliver "Obb" Thompson

Mr. Thompson was a United States Army veteran where he was a sergeant in the 19th division combat engineers and served during Vietnam. He was a butcher for Fisher Packing Company and J.B. Swift. Mr. Thompson formerly attended Holy Family Catholic School and Church where he married his wife Bonnie. He was a member of the American Legion Post 157

Among those who preceded him in death include, his father, Anthony Thompson and brother, Zeke Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Bonnie Thompson; sons, Brian (Lindsey), Mark and Steven (Karen) Thompson; grandchildren, Zeke, Evan, Hunter, Olivia and Corey; mother, Catherine Helen Thompson; brother, Nick Thompson; sister, Beverly Koch (Jerry) and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Legion Post 157.
