Gilbert Thomas Jeffries, Sr.

Mr. Gilbert Thomas Jeffries, Sr., age 85, of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on January 30, 2023. Mr. Jeffries was born on July 2, 1937, in Louisville, KY to the late Tom and Easter (Tinnell) Jeffries. He retired from Corhart Refracteries. He raced cars at Fairgrounds Motor Speedway. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cookouts with his family. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, and brothers, Kenny and Jerry Jeffries.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 63 years, Jeanette (Roby) Jeffries; children, Bonnie Thomas (Eric), Mary Hawkins (Jack), Bobby Wolf (Jan), Debra Birge (Dan), Tom Jeffries (Susan), Dan Jeffries (Mary), Darrell Jeffries (Tammy), and Mae Boecher (Lee); grandchildren, Eric, Greg, Kim, Karla, Keri, Carleigh, Dale, Jessica, Brandon, Craig, Shawn, Jeremy, Sheena, DJ, Nicole, Brandy, and Gerald; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Chester Jeffries; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12-4 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Family video on www.subfuneralhome.com
