Mr. Harris was born June 3, 1941 in New Albany, Indiana and was a United States Air Force veteran. He retired from Robert Bosch Tool Corp. (formerly Vermont American Corp) where he managed and oversaw the purchasing and development aspect of national and international manufacturing. His unstoppable work ethic and refusal to reman idle led to his continued part time employment with Jewish Hospital Medical Center South up until approximately 2 years ago.
Jack was a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #266 F & AM and Brooks Baptist Church.
Above all, Jack was a caretaker whom loved his family fiercely. His kind heart, gentle soul and depths of wisdom are traits his family and friends will forever miss. He had a quick wit and dry humor that was ever present up until just hours before he left his earthly body.
Among those who preceded him in death are his daughter, Donna Sue Miller; grandson, Sean Patrick Miller; his parents, John and Merry Harris; sister, Debra Murray; brother, Ned T. Rhodes and step mother, Betty Harris Brunson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife and ever constant companion of 52 years, Wanda Winstead Harris; daughters, Carla Johnson and Stacey Harris; grandchildren, Shrevia Allen; Tabatha Miller-Richardson, Amber Squires, Stacey Miller-Grooms, Sheridan Hamilton, Jack Hoskins-Harris and Jude Hoskins-Harris; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Rick Rhodes (Sandra) and a host of other family and friends.
