James Edward Bennett

Mr. James Edward Bennett, age 80, of Louisville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 13, 2024.  He was born in Andyville, KY on May 20, 1944, to Oris Harden and Iva “Pipes” Bennett. James was a inactive member of New Highland Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Sheila Jesse (Kent) and Michelle Leak (David); and their mother, Liz; sister Mary Hack (Junie); grandchildren, Brittney (Steven) and Talayna (Michael); great grandchildren, Steven, Lincoln. Karter, Achaia, Evelyn, Elijah and Emmery; and a host of family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) cremation was chosen. Visitation will be December 28, 2024 from 11 am until time of service. Expression of sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
