James "Stan" Bridges

Mr. James “Stan” Bridges, age 75, of Louisville, Ky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 26, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 11, 1949, to the late Leslie Bridges and Sophia (Miller) Bridges. Stan retired from Southern States Co-op as Branch manager and worked for 20 years at Walmart as the produce team leader. He was a member at Victory Baptist Church, was a graduate from University of Kentucky, “Go Big Blue” he enjoyed hiking, camping, gardening, and cookouts. Stan also loved his fur babies Tiger and Jewell. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Sherry Bridges, son Scott Bridges (Amanda), daughter Suzanne Acevedo (Yuaonelt “Flaco” ), eight grandchildren Sara, Aaron, Ethan, Paisley, Yandell, Yelina, Milo, Lino, brothers Paul Bridges, Robert Bridges (Maureen), Barry Bridges (Alice), sister Janet Halliday, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

A Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 12 p.m. in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 8 Mr. Donald “Donnie, Lee Schmidt, Jr. age 65, of Shepherdsville, Ky returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 31, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 24, 1959, to the late Donald Lee Schmidt Sr., and Shirley Jean (Stamp) Mahan. Donnie worked for several years at Ford, he was a loving and kind son, he enjoyed playing pool, watching his T.V. programs, and the University of Kentucky Basketball fan. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by Mother Shirley Mahan, his sister JoAnn Delph (Richard), daughter Tara Foley (Michael), son Dalton Schmidt, and 2 grandchildren, a nephew and a host of other dear family and friends. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. :00 p.m. and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Cremation to follow.
