James Mitchell Gibson

Mr. James Mitchell Gibson, age 88, of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 23, 2023.   He was born on October 16, 1934, to the late Joseph Poter Gibson and Myirtis Wynn Edgar.

Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Durham Gibson; stepsons, Anthony Bowman, Mark Dee Bowman, Chester Bowman and Ricky Lee Bowman; stepdaughter, Terrie Lynn Bowman; brothers, Bob Gibson, Floyd Gibson and David Gibson; sisters, Helen Blackburn, Marilyn Smith

 and Wanda England.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Patricia Garrity (Rick), grandchildren, Jason Bowman (Sarah Edmonson) and Sean Bowman (Kelly); great grandchildren, Skylar Alazae’ Bowman, Gabriella Bowman, Connor Bowman, Kennedy Bowman and Riley Bowman; great great grandchild, Grayson Onyx Schlachter and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road).  Friends and loved ones may pay their respects on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 11 am until time of service at the funeral home.
