James "Kenny" French Sr.

James Kenneth “Kenny” French, Sr., 85, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Mr. French was born on November 20, 1938, in Morganfield, Kentucky to the late Harold French and Margaret (Crowdus) French. Mr. French was a retired self-employed contractor, that was known for his amazing carpentry and woodworking skills. His artistic side came out through his painting, drawing, photography and jewelry making. He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret French; wife of 67 years, Shirley (Denham) French; brothers, Bobby and Ed French. He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Denise French (Tom); son, James “Jim” French, Jr. (Lori); grandchildren, Cory Ware, Bethany Combs (Will), Sara French and Danielle French; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ryleigh, Brendan, Peyton, Liam, Logan, Stephen, and Easton. Funeral services will be at 6:00pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy. 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Drive) with cremation to follow.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 10:00am – 6:00pm. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
