He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kimberly Sauer; his children, Shelby (Markel), Joseph Jr, and Joshua; a grandson, Markel Jr "MJ"; his brother, Johnny Sauer along with lots of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a dedicated Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved Kentucky basketball. He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Sauer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N. Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165, on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
