Judy Ellen McMakin

Ms. Judy Ellen McMakin, age 78, of Taylorsville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on December 31, 2025. Judy was born in New Hope, Kentucky, on April 7, 1947, to the late Preston “Bob” Williamson and Pauline (Clark) Williamson. Judy retired from General Electric after 30 years of service and then had a career at Kroger for 10 years. Judy also had other various jobs throughout her life, and she was a volunteer Fireman in Hardinsburg, Indiana. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching birds, taking trips to the beach, going to the Kentucky State Fair and Cincinnati Red Games. But most of all she loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, and sister, and Mamaw. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Joe and Raphael Williamson, sisters Betty Williamson, June Whiting, Frances Culver, and Carolyn Clements.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Theresa Buckman (Chris), daughter Jennifer Martindale (Michael), grandson Cody Buckman (Kaitlyn), great-grandson Ethan Buckman, brothers Larry Williamson, Bobby Williamson (Kim), sisters Becky Ryan, Mary Culver, Janie Peterworth (Don), along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow at St. Catherine Cemetery at New Haven, Kentucky.
