On the morning of May 2nd, 2023, our beloved Justin Lee Collins (Justy) moved on from this world. Justin was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, on January 24th, 2007, at 3:35 pm in the afternoon. He was the youngest of two brothers born to Jamie and Charles Ray Collins, Sr. He was a student at Bullitt East High School. He was on the bowling team and was a scout with Boy Scout Troop #337. Justin was smart, witty, creative, and always ready with a hilariously sarcastic comment. He enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, repairing phones, camping with the scouts, and Doritos locos tacos. Justin was a light in our world, but he also struggled with things we don’t understand, and that’s okay. Despite that, he was and is dearly loved by his family and friends. We were fortunate to have had him in our lives, and we will miss him more than it’s possible to express.
Justin is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Dom and Dale (Nonnie) Donatello, James Collins, Charles and Mary Heines, Ellen Bidwell, Jack and Shirley Lege, and Lula Mae Bass Michael. Justin is survived by his parents, Charles “Charlie” Ray, Sr. and Jamie Marie Collins; his big brother, Charles “Ray” Collins, Jr.; and great-grandparents, Ernie Bidwell and Norma Collins. Justin is also survived by an enormous and loving family and friends to cherish his precious memory.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 am on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 1-8 pm and Wednesday from 9 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Family video on www.subfuneralhome.com
