Karen Sue Hill

Mrs. Karen Sue Hill, age 59, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 30, 2024. Mrs. Hill was born in Louisville, KY on October 12, 1964 to the late Edward R. Ellis and Bobbie Byrd Ellis. She was a talented singer. Karen won many awards for her beautiful soprano voice. She was a devoted member of Highland Park First  Baptist Church where she used her musical gifts to sing in the choir, perform solos, teach the children music, as well as teach the 2–4-year-olds the gospel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. 

In addition to her parents, her brother, Terry Ellis preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Millard Ray Hill Jr.; daughter, Rachel Hill; grandson, Edward Hill; sister, Robin Miller; nieces and nephews, Jazmyn Carroll, Spencer Carr, Grant Hill and Mattie Hill; great aunts, Sharon Laffey and JoAnn Thomas; her sweet dog, Hope and a host of other dear family and friends. 

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Highland Park First Baptist Church (7321 Billtown Rd., Louisville, KY) Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday from 3:00 pm until the time of her service at 4:00 pm at the church.

Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
