

Larry Everett Plunkett, age 84, a resident of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on October 17, 2021. He was born on September 28, 1937 in Hammond, Indiana. Larry graduated from Hammond High School, received his BA from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and his MA from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. A veteran of the US Air Force, Larry worked as an Electrical/Design Engineer for most of his career, during which time he was issued several patents for his work. When he retired, Larry's position was Principal Engineer at Danaher Motion. Larry was actively involved in many churches over the years in teaching, singing and other ministries. Larry and his first wife, Naomi were married for 55 years, until her death in 2013. In the last few years of his life, Larry also enjoyed making many machine embroidered gifts for friends and family.
Larry is survived by his high-school sweetheart, his wife Jane, of Louisville, KY; daughters, Dawn (Bob) Dickinson of Elmhurst, IL, Laura (Carl) Bjerga of Lombard, IL; his son, David (Diane) Plunkett of Libertyville, IL; 6 grandchildren, Kyle (Jackie) Bjerga, Lindsay (Luke) Bjerga-Palm, Jordan (Lisa) Dickinson, Shane Dickinson, Andrew (Allie) Plunkett and Lukas Plunkett; 4 great-grandsons, Carson, Parker and Bryant Bjerga and Dallas Dickinson; stepson, Copeland Blake of LaGrange, KY and stepdaughter, Tarrant Blake of Carlsbad, NM.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Naomi and his parents Everett and Marie Plunkett.
A memorial service will be held later next year.
