Linda M. Hedges

Linda Margaret Hedges, age 80, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 15, 2026. She was born on December 5, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Rose (Cummins) Winstel. Linda loved her home and was a meticulous homemaker. She was a proud Army wife and loved baking, cooking and taking care of her family and friends. She enjoyed making pottery and she and her husband worked together making woodcrafts; he made the patterns and she lovingly painted them. Linda was known as a “mom” to all, and loved caring for all children who needed her special touch. She and her husband were foster parents to numerous kids. Her family will fondly remember Linda decorating the house for every holiday. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hedges; son, Michael Hedges; sisters, Susan Hardin and Kenitha Caudill and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Susan Hedges.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Timothy Hedges, Brian Hedges (Christy) and “bonus” son, Kevin Caudill; grandchildren, Kaeli (DJ), De’Mian, Amber, Jonathan, Jacob, Aaron, Jessica, Daniella, Caleb and Ethan; great-granddaughter, Eloise; brother, John Winstel, Jr. and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
