Mrs. Mary Louise Westbay, age 73, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with her family by her side. Mrs. Westbay was born in Upton, KY on May 10, 1952 to the late Floyd Henry Miller and Beulah M. Butler.
Her greatest priority in life was her family, and she lived each day with them at the center of her heart. She found joy in caring for those she loved and created a home filled with warmth and devotion.
She loved tending to her flowers and rose garden, as well as painting and writing. She enjoyed visits to parks and lakes and the thrill of a casino. She did love traveling, even if she often joked and complained about the journey until she finally arrived.
Her faith was important to her, and she attended church throughout her life, including Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in her youth. She especially cherished the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Easter—times filled with love and togetherness.
In addition to her parents, her siblings, Betty Priddy, Frances Kinser, Alma Wilson, Stanley Miller and Russell Wooden preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Edward E. Westbay; children, Mark Westbay (Jennifer), Michelle Whelan and Gloria Paul (Scott); grandchildren, Kara Clark (Isaac), Matthew Whelan (Destiny), Austin Paul (Kimmie), Brandon Westbay (Katie), Chandler Paul, Clayton Vuick, Madison Hartley (Trey), Alyssa Whelan and Hunter Whelan; great-grandchildren, Athena, Priya, Cayden, Atticus, Reina, Masen, Dylan, Rylee, Harper, Dalen, Grayson, Lane and Wrenley; siblings, Johnny Miller, Phildon Wooden and Martha Shell and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, April 3rd from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of her service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
