Ms. Patricia Ann McDonald, age 85, of Shelbyville, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 9, 2026. She was a graduate of Southern High School and went on to dedicate many years of service to the Kentucky Education Association (KEA), from which she later retired. She found great joy in gardening, tending her flowers and plants with patience and care — a reflection of the way she nurtured those around her. Above all else, her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her greatest happiness came from watching her family grow and thrive.
Among those who preceded her in death are, her mother, Dorothy Groves; father, Lloyd Painter; stepmother, Jenny Painter and her brothers, James and Dennis Painter.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Michael McDonald; grandchildren, Joshua McDonald (Stephanie) and Ashley Corley (Jacob); great-grandchildren, Noah and Owen; daughter-in-law, Rosanna McDonald; brother, Ronnie Painter and a host of other dear family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)
