Paul Vernon Elwell

Paul Vernon Elwell, age 81, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, with his family by his side. Paul was born in Spokane, Washington on January 28, 1944, to the late Edna Hester-Elwell and Roy Elwell, Sr. He was a faithful member of Fairdale United Baptist Church and retired from Henry Vogt as a metal worker. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Lawrence Elwell; parents, Edna and Roy Elwell and his brothers, Mark, Steve and Ronnie Elwell.

He is survived by Roxanne Elwell; beloved children, Josh Elwell, Roy Vernon Elwell, II, Christopher Daniel Elwell, Sherry Woodcox (Paul), Jennifer Riolieo and Cathy Raymer (Tim); grandchildren, Amber Elwell, Alexis Elwell, Destiny Elwell, Noah Williamson, Leeland Woodcox, Candyce Woodcox, Austin Driver (Angelina), Brittany Castaneda (Juan), Renee Elwell, Kylie Elwell, Josh Elwell, Jr., Taylor Elwell, Hailey Elwell, Dylan Elwell, Damien Raymer, Chris Elwell, Jr., Kayla Elwell and Chase Elwell; great-grandchildren, Aurora Elwell, Mikey Williamson, Estella Castaneda, Reagan Castaneda, Ariella Castaneda and Athena Driver.

Paul will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 12:00 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Pennsylvania Run Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 and on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 9:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
