Paul Wayne McGinnis Jr.

Mr. Paul Wayne McGinnis, Jr., age 66, of Brooks, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 24, 2026. Mr. McGinnis was born in Chestertown, Maryland on November 12, 1959. Mr. McGinnis was an Army and National Guard veteran. He served two tours in Iraq. He retired from Conway Transportation and he was a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather and brother.

Among those who preceded him in death are, his mother, Joan Anderson McGinnis; sister, Cathy McGinnis and grandparents, Paul Baxter McGinnis and Isabell Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Rita Marie McGinnis; children, Daniel Birdwell, Paul W. McGinnis, III, Darick McGinnis; Lacy Ann Klein and Renee Williams; a host of grandchildren; brothers, David McGinnis and Charles McGinnis; half-brother, Brady Thompson; stepbrother, Pete Thompson and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends and family may pay their respects at a memorial visitation on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of his service at 12:30 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, KY)

Following, Mr. McGinnis’ Memorial Service, inurnment will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Please meet at the cemetery (2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160) at 2:30 pm at the office to the right with the sign noted “Funeral processions gather here.”
