Mrs. Penny Lou Brewer, age 82, of Louisville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Mrs. Brewer was born in Benham, KY on March 27, 1943 to the late John Cope and Opal Kaylor Cope. She is originally from Cumberland, KY (Harlan County) but established roots in the Louisville area. She was a devoted member of Little Flock Baptist Church and worked with Custom Home Improvement. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Charles Allen Brewer; daughter, Kandi Brewer and her sister, Janet Jo Haynes preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kara Sheehy (John); grandchildren, Justin (Kim), Michael (Abbey), Morgan (Sebastien), Kaelyn (Justin), Kendra and Kyle (Makhola); 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of her service at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
