

Mr. Phillip Swinney, age 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 8, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 1, 1941, to the late Thomas and Mamie Swinney. Phillip retired from Neagley Outdoor Advertising. He was a die-hard University of Kentucky fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his friends at his favorite watering holes. However, most of all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, Papaw, and brother and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded death by his parents, and late wife Cheri Swinney, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Vicki Kelly (Al), grandchildren Travis Ridgeway (Morgan), Brian Ridgeway, (Elisha), 5 great-grandchildren Braxton, Ashtyn, Owen, Ryker, Paisley, 2 brothers Jimmy Swinney (Mary), Gene Swinney (Patty), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Cremation was Chosen.
