Raymond "Doug" Douglas Kerney

Mr. Raymond “Doug” Douglas Kerney, age 70, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Doug was born on May 25, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Arthur Raymond Kerney and Concella Green. Doug was a member of Shepherds Call Baptist Church, a retired JCPS bus driver for over 20 plus years. In earlier years he spent a lot of time running youth leagues, coaching football, basketball, and baseball, he liked dancing, bowling, and spending time at the lake. He also was very active in Fairdale in the community where he would volunteer driving activity buses for the high school and helping others. Doug loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.

Among those who preceded him in death are his parents, his late wife Karen Kerney, brothers Kenneth Jenkins, and Richard Noe, and daughter-in-law Jatanya Kerney.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Eric Kerney, daughter Cassie Hall (Stephen), son Nicholas Kerney (Mary), 9 grandchildren Justin, Shay, Zach, Jamison (Belisa), Khloe, Gabriel, Hunter, Liam, Isabella, and niece Gina, along with a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, Mt. Washington (Hwy 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Drive) with cremation to follow later. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at funeral home.
