Mr. Robert Gerald Prather, age 82, of Fairdale, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 28, 2019. Mr. Prather was born in Worthington, KY on November 21, 1936 to the late Edward Carl and Velma Marr Ogden Prather. He was a professional painter and dedicated to the Bible study he held with close friends.
Among those who preceded him in death are, his loving wife, Jean Prather; his grandson, Charles K. “Chuckie” DeWitt and siblings, Donald Prather, Evelyn Jecker and William Prather.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved daughters, Kathy Hargrove (Mark), Cindy Colvin (David), Tina DeWitt (Chuck) and Laura Saylor (Ronnie); grandchildren, Andy, Jeremiah, Jay, Bethany, Chris, Sarah, Amanda and Savannah; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Dominic, Makayla, Conner, Zoey, Rayna, Jillian, Christopher, Skylar and Lola; brother, Phillip Prather and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
