Ronald "Scott" Matthews

Mr. Ronald “Scott” Matthews, age 52, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Scott was born in Louisville on September 29, 1971, to James Earl Matthews Sr., and the late June (Curtsinger) Matthews. He was a General Contractor by trade, he enjoyed working with his hands, he loved his Harley, the lake, beach and ocean, he liked a good baseball game and his fur babies especially his cat Thelma. He was a devoted husband dad, and Papaw, he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 7 years, and High School Sweetheart Tonya Matthews, his father James Earl Matthews Sr., (Virginia) his three daughters Shelby Yearns, Julie and Jessica Kyser, three grandchildren Grace, Briar, and Athena, three brothers, James Earl Matthews Jr., (Missy), Rodney Matthews (Melissa),Ronnie Matthews (Ashley), his best friend Mark Carey, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 4,2024, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway). Family and Friends may pay their respects Thursday October 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Friday

from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery
