Ronald Lee Thompson

Mr. Ronald Lee Thompson, age 73, of Hillview returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 24, 2019. He was born in Athertonville, Kentucky on October 3, 1945 to the late Calvin and Allie Mae (Nicholas) Thompson.  Mr. Thompson was an Army veteran. During his service he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, a purple heart and two bronze stars. was in car sales at Bob Montgomery Chevrolet and an avid U of K fan. He loved cars. He loved Nascar, was in a car club and a collector of classic cars.  Mr. Thompson also loved food, one might call him a “foodie”.  He was a dedicated husband to his wife of 50 years and father to his children. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.  Mr. Thompson will be greatly missed.  

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Sue (Green) Thompson; his children, Stacy Lynn Rulon and Ronald Paul Thompson; grandchildren, Calvin Lewis Rulon and Matthew Brian Thompson; sisters, Peggy Cecil (Jim) and Connie Miller (Larry); Brother by choice, Bruce Burton (Resa); several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:00 am at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)  with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
