Russell Allen Uphold

Russ Allen Uphold, age 75 of Louisville, KY left this world on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville. He was born on Monday, June 5, 1950, to the late Russell W. Uphold Sr. and Cleta (Bell) Uphold.

He is survived by his wife of 30 yrs Brenda (Richert) Uphold; two sisters, Barbara A. Bradley (Joe) Ringgold, GA and Brenda S. DeLauder Kingwood, WV; sisters-in-law, Beverly Shepherd (Mark), Valerie Simpson and Dr. Judith Richert (Steve); brothers-in-law, Bradley Richert and Terry Richert (Michelle), along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who adored him.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a sister Carol E. Uphold and a brother-in-law George DeLauder.

Russ served in the US Marine Corp with active duty in Vietnam. After his military service, Russ retired from General Electric after 32 years. Upon retirement, Russ focused his time on Camaros and Corvettes, the beach and sitting in his recliner at his wife's side watching movies.

Funeral services will be at 10 am on Monday, March 23, 2026, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood, & Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 N Preston Hwy, Shepherdsville, KY with interment to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3pm - 8pm and on again on Monday from 9 am until time of service 10am.

A lite lunch will be catered in on Sunday during visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to: Disabled American Veterans or Make a Wish Foundation.
