

Mrs. Shelley Lee Sexton, age 65, of Louisville, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 9, 2025. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 28, 1960, to the late Bernard Brown and Barbara Edrington Brown.
Shelley dedicated 25 years of service as an assistant teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools. She had a true passion for teaching and a deep love for the children she worked with, touching many lives through her kindness and care. Outside of her work, Shelley enjoyed gardening, caring for her beloved pets, watching her favorite soap operas, and spending cherished time playing board games with her son. Though outgoing and friendly, she found her greatest comfort and joy at home with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, James A. Sexton Jr. and sisters-in-law, Connie Rider, and Dorothy Casteel.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 47 years, Steven W. Sexton; her son, Clayton Sexton; her brother, Dean Brown (Pam); her sister-in-law, Jeannette Becker (Mickey); her best friend, Kimberly Webb; a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of her service at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
