

Steve Thomas, age 76, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 2, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Carl Thomas and Frances Fields. Steve was a proud veteran of the United States Army and retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years. He was a previous bus driver, driving for 10 years, for Bullitt County Public Schools. He enjoyed the ocean, the woods and motorcycles. He loved to travel; taking trips to Florida, California, Red River Gorge and Lake Cumberland. Steve loved tennis and was well known for his love of dogs. His direct manner and generosity will be remembered by those who knew him. Steve believed in hard work and believed everyone should know the value of hard work as well.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Lee Thomas and brothers-in-law, Richard Lee Sheetz, Buddy Miller, Jay Miller and Bryan Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years, Terri (Miller) Thomas; daughter, Dawn Rochelle Thomas; brother, Eric Ray Thomas, Sr. (Bonnie); sister, Cheryl Risinger (Tony); uncle, Sylvester Fields; aunts, Judy Perkins and Marlyn; nieces and nephews, Eric Thomas, II, Greg Thomas, Beth Howard, Anthony Risinger, Jr., Christy Clephas, Gregory Sheetz, John Miller and Jordan Miller; mother-in-law, Billie Miller; sisters-in-law, Sharon Miller and Yvonne Sheetz and a host of great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be conducted on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.).
