Steven D. Brown

Mr. Steven D. Brown, age 65, of Okolona returned to his Heavenly Father on February 10, 2023. Mr. Brown was born on May 11, 1957 in Louisville, KY to the late Raymond and Frances (Young) Brown. He was a A.S.E. certified mechanic and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival. He loved his family dearly and will be missed always. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, sister, Sylvia Foster; and brother, Charles Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 36 years, Rose (McVay) Brown; children, Sonya Bernhart (Chris), James McVay, and Tyler Brown; grandsons, C.J. Bernhart and Jonathon McVay; sister, Sandra Turner (Gary); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 2 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the funeral home.
