William "Fred" Frederick Reid

William “Fred” Reid, age 86, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 28, 2024, with loving family by his side. He was born on February 14, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James William and Anne Evelyn (Donohue) Reid. Fred was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shepherdsville and a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Berlin Crisis as well as in South Korea. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and cookouts. His family fondly remembers meals where Fred would make sure to heap food on his grandchildrens’ plates. They jokingly comment that they can’t eat that much food now that they are older. He loved to celebrate a meal with family and friends but his true passion was spending time with his family; being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Michelle Reid and 7 brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 64 years, Bonnie (Hall) Reid; son, Tony Frederick Reid (Becky); daughters, Debbie Jean Kirk (John) and Tina Anne LeFaive (Tim); grandchildren, Kristen Clan (Mike), Brittany Stockman (Shaun), Doug Reid (Taylor), Steven Reid (Grace), Chris Reid, Brittany Reid, Samantha LeFaive (Jason), Maria LeFaive, Uriah LeFaive and Celina LeFaive; great-grandchildren, Madison Clan, Liam Clan, Brysen Reid, Keagan Reid, Hunter Reid and Levi Reid; sisters, Ruth Ann Lester and Martha Jean Hasty and a host of other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 10 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Shepherdsville, Kentucky with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 1 pm until 8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.).
