William D. Spencer

Mr. William D. Spencer Jr., age 86, of Okolona, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Mr. Spencer was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 27, 1930, he attended Eastside Praise Church of God, he was involved in the music ministry for various local churches, he loved playing the piano and retired from RC Cola.

Among those who preceded him in death include, his wife, Marian Elaine Lawrence Spencer; his parents, William and Anna Spencer and brother, Earl Franks.

Mr. Spencer is survived by his children, Colleen Drake (Bennie), Thomas Spencer (Gwendolyn), Cynthia Drake, Timothy Spencer (Kathy) and Charlotte Ruth Williams; grandchildren, Daniel, Alisha, Jeffrey, Patricia, Tina, Jonathan, Jessica, Elaine, Matthew, Derek and Sarah; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Leora Caldwell and a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who have cared for Mr. Spencer during the past few years.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2016 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service at Schoppenhorst.
