

Mrs. Camille A. Halstion departed this life on August 23, 2014. Camille was born in New York, NY to Valda Barnes and the late Willie Barnes on August 1, 1957 along with her twin sister, Amelia Barnes. Camille also has two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Barnes. She attended Louis D. Brandeis High School in New York City and graduated from Coastline Community College in California.
On June 6, 1981 Camille married James R. Halstion, her high-school sweetheart. From this union, came two sons, Thomas and Steven.
During her marriage to James, Camille traveled with her husband to various military bases throughout the world. Her skills for organizing were readily apparent when she began working with other military wives as they strove to stay in touch with their husbands in the field. Camille was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for her work as a Team Wife during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
Upon returning stateside, Camille began a productive career with major corporations. Her longest engagement was with American Express Travel as a Hiring Coordinator and she excelled in that position for over eleven years.
When Camille left American Express, she started her own Company, Halstion Services, LLC. She was an active member of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. Although Mrs. Halstion excelled in business endeavors, she gave much more in time and resources to her Church and Church family.
Camille’s love for Jesus was evident in her service to her Church and local Community. She spent many years in Service at Suwanee Parish U.M.C. and also served on and led several ministries. Camille was the Staff Parish Chair, The Congregational Care Chair, and began a Business Ministry that assisted with job searches. Camille was also very active with the Pathway East Walk to Emmaus Community and organized the Walk to Emmaus at Suwanee Parish UMC. Following her own Walk to Emmaus #4, her reunion group was a priority to her as she faced each and every 4th day.
As many women will attest, Camille opened her home to numerous Bible Studies that impacted and helped others. She also opened her home several times a year and hosted 4th of July celebrations which grew every year along with the New Year’s Eve celebrations following Watch Night Services after Church. Camille’s work for the Lord was never ending and continued up to the end of her life.
Camille leaves behind a loving husband, James Halstion, her sons, Thomas and Steven (Brandy), grand-daughter, Kallie, mother, Valda Barnes, twin sister, Amelia Barnes, brothers, Robert and Kenneth Barnes, mother in- law, Gracie Walburg, sister in-law, Gracie Ann, brother in-law, Samuel Halstion (Ann), a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, and care-giver Linda Rodriquez.

The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, August 30, 2014 in Suwanee Worship Center. Interment, September 2nd, 11:30 am in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton. Tributes in Camile's memory may be placed at www.mem.com. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday 2 to 4 pm prior to the service at the Suwanee Worship Center.
